View from ferry deck approaching terminal

IKEA brooklyn ferry terminal

My new terminal with the use of porosity considers possibilities for future expansion of commuter traffic and mimics the surrounding piers. A new water taxi connecting small town, Red Hook with downtown Manhattan has increased traffic in Brooklyn.

As you walk towards the water, the floor and ceiling comfortably slopes to adjust the tides, accessible for both handicaps and IKEA carts with heavy products. The scattered programs and stalagmite seating benches help playfully veil the setting sun on the horizon.

on architecture & conception

I never thought that taking a survey or listening in on a lecture would determine entirely what I would do with the rest of my life, but sometimes it happens. It is those spontaneous moments that always amuse me, like finding that perfect building form while eating potato chips.
